ENVO Next Move 2026-27 · Global Design Contest
What if the next electric vehicle started with your idea? ENVO's Next Move design contest is back. Imagine a vehicle built on UPT, ENVO's modular electric vehicle platform, that solves a real-world problem. Enter a full design or just a written idea, and you could win an ENVO e-bike and see your concept at CES 2027. Entry is free and open to everyone, everywhere.
What is the Next Move design contest?
Next Move is ENVO's global mobility design contest. Instead of starting from a blank sheet, you start from a real, modular platform called UPT and show what it should become next. You do not need to be a professional designer. Designers, engineers, builders, students, businesses, and first-timers are all welcome. The first Next Move, back in 2022-23, drew 382 entries from 34 countries, and one of those winning ideas grew into the UPT platform you will design on today.
Why design on one modular platform?
Most new vehicles are built from scratch, which is slow and expensive. UPT takes a Lego-like approach to electric mobility. One chassis, one electric drivetrain, and one control architecture are shared across 18+ configurations, from cargo carriers and farm vehicles to municipal, landscaping, and recreational models. That means you can focus on the part that matters, the job your vehicle does, instead of reinventing everything underneath.
- Reuse a common chassis, drive, and battery across many kinds of vehicle
- Spend your energy on the part that makes your vehicle special
- Reconfigure the layout, body, and equipment as needs change
- Make building and servicing simpler and more consistent
What you could win
An ENVO e-bike, plus a spot at CES 2027
One grand-prize winner takes home an ENVO e-bike of their choice, the D50 or ST50. Designs and written ideas compete for the same prize, so a strong idea counts just as much as a polished render. Three standout early entries are also featured at ENVO's booth at CES 2027 in Las Vegas, shown with your name. You do not need to attend to be featured.

What makes a winning design
Designs and written ideas are judged the same way, on five things:
- It solves a clear problem for an identifiable user
- It offers a distinct application, arrangement, or improvement
- Its relationship to the UPT platform is clear and credible
- Operation, safety, ergonomics, and development needs are considered
- There is a convincing reason people or organizations would use it
From a contest entry to the real platform
In the first Next Move, Alan Tam proposed NEXT-GEN, a modular electric platform for several different uses, and won Gold among hundreds of international entries. Alan later joined ENVO and brought industrial design into the engineering effort that became UPT. Your proposal could show us the next application, capability, or partner we have not discovered yet.
Ready to design the next move?
